Winter holds in me a place
of safety and of rest
a promise kept all summer long
that soon they’ll see my best
Within the snow that falls quietly down
is confidence, strong, content
So far away is the hot sun...
those long days I lament.
The frozen earth, a sign to me
that July’s sting has past.
The melting ice, another sign
that cold days go too fast.
Snowy days now slip away
one by one they leave.
Left tortured by the sun once more,
by the flowers I shall grieve.
of safety and of rest
a promise kept all summer long
that soon they’ll see my best
Within the snow that falls quietly down
is confidence, strong, content
So far away is the hot sun...
those long days I lament.
The frozen earth, a sign to me
that July’s sting has past.
The melting ice, another sign
that cold days go too fast.
Snowy days now slip away
one by one they leave.
Left tortured by the sun once more,
by the flowers I shall grieve.
